Rest & Reconnect is a 90-minute monthly yoga and meditation class designed to help you slow down, ground yourself, and remember that you’re more than your to-do list. This isn’t about fixing anything or becoming some better version of yourself. It’s about creating space to breathe and relate a little differently to the lovely stuff and the messy stuff. You might leave feeling more anchored, more awake, or just a little gentler toward yourself and the world around you.
July’s focus will be understanding equanimity.
What to expect:
- Walking meditation to land in the moment
- Restorative yoga to help your body release
- Short talk + bite-sized practice ideas grounded in Buddhist wisdom and modern life
- Guided meditation to reconnect with breath and body
- Group discussion to chat, share, and connect (or just listen—no pressure)

Carra Simpson
Carra began practicing Vipassana meditation in 2009. She has spent over 120 days (non-consecutive!) in silent retreat and served for a year as residential staff at Cloud Mountain Retreat Center in Castle Rock, WA. She is a graduate of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, guided by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She is also a very proud graduate of the 2023 Glowing Body Teacher Training. Carra lives in rural Knoxville, is a proud chicken mom, and is in her first year of acupuncture study at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine.
