What is Karma Month?

Karma classes have been a part of The Glowing Body’s offerings since we opened in 2008.  This April, Karma classes are taking over the schedule, all month long! Classes will be pick-your-price for as little as $15 per class. View our class schedule to make your plans to attend.

Why are you offering Karma Month?

Though yoga has become a booming for-profit industry, along with other wellness services and products, most yoga teachers have a heart for teaching that means more to them than income. Karma is a Sanskrit word that means action. In this particular context, we are taking the perspective that sharing yoga has ripple effects throughout the community. We are treating this as a timed, concerted effort to share yoga widely, as a contribution to the positive adaptation and resilience of our community.

Does this mean classes are free?

No. Consider this a social experiment and community service project you get to be part of! The expectation is that the resources available to some students will supplement the limitations on others, so place a value on the class with that in mind. We encourage you to select a contribution that feels within your reach, with your circumstances in mind.

When does Karma Month begin?

As of April 1st, our full weekly schedule will have pick-your-price payment options. It ends April 30th, but a variety of passes are available year round, so that you may to continue your practice at The Glowing Body. We are happy to help you find the perfect fit.

How do I sign up for classes during Karma Month?

All students should pre-register for classes due to limits on our class sizes. You will need to create an account in our MindBody system in order to reserve a space in classes and pay for classes. Students who have previously purchased a class card will still able to redeem them as usual.

I already have a class pass. Can I keep using it during Karma Month?

Yes! You may continue using your existing class pass as usual, or you can take advantage of pick-your-price classes, but it will not change the expiration date of your current pass.

Which classes are Karma classes?

All the classes on our weekly schedule will be offered with Karma pricing options. There are also specialty workshops and series offered with pick-your-price options.

I have never been to The Glowing Body before. What do I do if I want to take a class?

You will need to create an account in MindBody in order to reserve a space in classes and pay for classes. Pre-registration for classes is strongly suggested. Drop-ins may not be able to be accommodated if the class is full.

  • Class sizes are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to get settled & meet the instructor. Always arrive before class start time, as doors will often be locked once class begins.
  • Mats are available to borrow during your class at no cost.

What other special offerings are available during Karma Month?

We have specialized workshops that also feature pick-your-price pricing options.

We’re also offering $15 Mini Services on Fridays from 9:00a – 12:00p in the month of April! Join us for a relaxing 15 minute foot or hand rub with Loretta or Katie, licensed massage therapists, or a 15 minute facial cleanse with Jayme, licensed esthetician.

Perfect as a quick reset before or after class — no need to change clothes. Book your spot and enjoy some TLC your whole body will thank you for.

What happens when Karma Month is over?

Earn Credit Toward a Monthly Pass : Your reward for building the habit

During Karma Month, your practice can build toward something more. Each time you pick-your-price in April, that amount can be applied as credit toward the first month of one of our Monthly Passes, starting in May.

How it works:

  • Attend classes in April using pick-your-price ($15 • $20 • $25).
  • Credit accumulated cannot exceed the cost of the first month of your new pass.
  • A three-month minimum commitment is required.
  • Cancellation earlier than three months will result in a one time fee, equal to 100% of one month’s pass.

It’s our way of rewarding the habit of showing up in April—for yourself and for your practice.
